One shoot, two days, and no second unit
A launch campaign with a budget that allowed for one shoot and no reshoot, which turned out to be the most useful constraint on the job.
[CLIENT NAME] needed a campaign for [PRODUCT / LAUNCH] and had the budget for one shoot. No second unit, no pickup day, no safety net.
We treated that as the brief rather than the obstacle. A campaign that can only be shot once has to be conceived as one continuous idea, not as a set of assets to be assembled later.
Concept
[CONCEPT DESCRIPTION — one paragraph, plainly stated.]
The whole thing was built to be legible at three sizes: a billboard nobody stops for, a feed nobody is paying attention to, and a film somebody chose to watch. Anything that only worked at one of those was cut before the shoot.
Production
Two days, [LOCATION], a crew of [CREW SIZE]. [CASTING NOTE.] [ANY NOTABLE CONSTRAINT — weather, permit, light.]
We shot the film and the stills on the same setups rather than splitting them, which is why there was no second unit and why the stills look like the film instead of like stills.
